AGENCY’s proposal for a new brand of coastal ecological infrastructure, entitled Super Levee Urban Farm, was selected as one of two co-winners, from a field of 202 teams from over 20 countries.The competition, sponsored by Terreform 1, called for technical, urbanistic, and architectural strategies not simply for the food production required to feed the cities and suburbs, but the possibilities of diet, agriculture, and retrofitted facilities that could achieve that level within the constraints of the local climate and conditions.
